Besides Total War, I played Romance of the three kingdom at the same time. Not literally, but I switch between these two games back and forth because these two games are very similar as they were based on same histories. From these two games I found some interesting mechanisms, the diplomacy option seems like a part where players can let free of their imaginations and try to make the most out off. I like the unpredictableness human brings. I want to add this into my game, to allow my players to have interactions other than just battle.
