The rise of modern board games can be traced back to The early 20th century. Elizabeth Magie invented The Landlord’s Game and applied for a patent to propose the drawbacks of capitalism to congress. There are two sets of rules in The Game, namely antitrust and monopoly. The anti-monopoly goal is to create wealth and get various rewards at the same time; Monopoly is to crush the opponent into a single winner.
